🚀HOW TO CONNECT

So you want to manage your life; this is where you start. It doesn't matter if you’re trying to understand your finances, plan your future or meet a new friend; running your life in our digital world can be overwhelming. After 15 years of managing myself in systems, here are my best three steps to find yourself and where you’re going!

  1. MEASURE YOUR TIME

    1. Measuring your time to create space for yourself is the most important thing you can do. Yet with all the things in life we have competing for our time we need a simple way to do that. You also need an effortless, safe, way to instantly know your daily balance. Time is the love you experience when you’re not managing your mind.

  2. DEFINE YOUR VALUES

    1. Once you understand your time you can start to use your energy in making sure it doesn’t get wasted again. You do this by filtering your decisions through a matrix of thinking that allow you to instantly say yes or no to the choices presented to you every day. I call this matrix your “values”. Values are the filters we have for our time.

    1. Growing and changing is hard, so it’s important to understand where you are in your evolution each and every season during your life. Sometimes you’re focused on health, sometimes on nature, at times, you race back to become more productive. I call these domains, Habits. Habits are the priorities we have for our time.

STEP 1️⃣ MEASURE YOUR TIME

The first step to working with your hyper-connected life is understanding your time and creating balance. Lots of apps will let you measure your time, but none will tell you if you’re balanced. To measure and balance and balance your time you need to decide that some things are fundamental. Rest, Work, Play, and Movement. Once those are balanced, you have the platform to start to make better choices. To get started download and try “OurBalance”. MY BALANCE

I start by measuring my balance. My balance is the equilibrium I create when I don’t over or underperform in any area of my life, from work to sleep, time with friends, to time to be active.

FAMILY BALANCE

My family is the most important thing to me. How I spend time with my family contributes to my balance. My family balance is the aggregated metrics of how every member of our family is living and thriving.

TEAM BALANCE

The invisible film of a toxic workplace is something every one of us needs to be aware of. This means you and your family will be greatly influenced if you work with people who don’t respect their balance.

STEP 2️⃣ DEFINE YOUR VALUES

To make better decisions, you need a mechanism to filter your choices. After getting married in 2018, I built a system on “Airtable” to make decision-making easier by filtering everything from money to tasks through our family values.

THE HABIT STORE

Habit domains are the maturity model created so we can understand where we are in our evolution and time understanding. Each person will go through each habit dominant through their life, sometimes multiple times. It usually begins with wanting to be more "productive."
